DIY Jet engine [WIP]

Building a jet engine that can sustain combustion has been a dream of mine for a long time and these are the first steps.

The above render is the first mock-up and has many issues. Firstly the volume of air should diminish as it traverses the impellor yet in this design the cross-section increases as it leaves the impellor. The aft section should also be accelerating the airflow whereas in this example it simply impedes it.
The most difficult aspect of this project is creating an adequate impellor geometry without any appropriate experience. So for the next version the impellor was completely remodelled.

The new geometry features a much more aggressive angle of attack and appropriately adds a shorter layer to the base of the impellor. The volume of air at any given point of it's path is shrunk according the angle of attack of the blades at that point. The resulting is smoother and much more compressed air at the output.

The straight cut after the impellor section is designed to induce turbulence around the fuel injector line to better mix the fuel. The efficacy of this needs to be tested with smoke (placing vapes at the input may be the simplest and cheapest option) and a cross section view. On this model having both an afterburner and a turbo prop is a strange choice but this is solely for illustration. I intend to use this as a testbed for both but not a the same time.
